Can one truly run away from God? The answer no, but one
man in history tried to and his name is Jonah. Jonah is an interesting
character. God had to put him in the belly of a great fish for Jonah to do what
He wanted him to do. It all started when God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and
tell them that He has seen their wicked ways and is going to destroy them if
they do not turn from their wicked ways. Jonah did not want to go so he got on
a boat headed for Tarshish. While on the boat a great storm came and the other
sailors on the boat became afraid and asked Jonah to pray to his god. Instead of
praying they casted lots and the lots all fell on Jonah. Jonah then told the
men to throw him over. The men feared God but did as Jonah asked and the storm
stopped. God sent a great fish which swallowed Jonah. For three days Jonah
prayed but not once did he repent. After three day the fish spit Jonah up and
he went to Nineveh just as God told him too.
